On this day in the Civil War, President-elect Lincoln continues his journey to Washington with a stop in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After receiving an assassination threat the previous day, it is arranged that Lincoln will travel with a bodyguard. Detective Allan Pinkerton travels with Lincoln by a different route.
